The alarming human in humanity that reigns supreme in most polygamous homes has just played a fast one on a young boy whose step-mother poured hot water on.
The increasing rate of home abuse, wife battery, especially child molestation, maltreating, and abuse calls for serious and quick intervention by all.
Ola in a critical condition is said to be under a serious intensive care in a hospital around Igando area of Lagos. His step-mum who works with the Lagos Internal Revenue Service took laws into and hands and punished him for beating her little daughter by pouring hot water on him while asleep. Read the story as it's being said by the youngster; “the argument that led to the sad incident started when my step-mum saw me beat my sister, she got very angry and wanted to harm me back in anger, she reached for and did all she could physically, I tried to defend myself but she overpowered me.
She got more furious after my father and some neighbors tried to stop her, and she started scattering the house and even broke bottles.

A Message To All 'Upcoming' Artists

Click for Full Image Size
If you are a singer, you are a singer ... if you are an actor/actress that's what you are. I don't believe in upcoming status. Moving on, some of you believe that once you start you will automatically become famous and start making money. It's a process, the bitter truth is it does not take a day to grow a tree and that applies to humans. If you take a minute to research on other great musicians you will realise that they put a lot of handwork and dedication over the years to be where they are now.

Steps to climb to the top?

You have to understand that I am giving my opinion or advice. I might not be right about everything but I hope you learn something new from this post.
First of all, you have to know your market and study your audience. Music is NOT music. There are different types of music. What I found out is that any music that is danceable in the club will spread like wide fire. So start from there, make party jams and not only you can dance to, but friends of friends can go crazy for. The song should be produced with quality sound / good producers (no excessive use of auto tune).
Secondly, Make friends with DJs. I tell you, like it or not, they are the best promoters. They would play your songs at every event and get people asking, 'who sang this song?' You can never go wrong with DJs, before you know it, your song will be aired on radio and TV channels.
Thirdly, have a relationship with entertainment bloggers. They are the group of people that are becoming very powerful on the internet. The likes of Jaguda,  Gidilounge and Anosikestanley.blogspot.com.com are taking entertainment to another level. Sometimes, you might have to pay a little fee for promotion but a blog post is always free (that I know of).
Next, never underestimate the power of social networks like facebook and twitter. Always share a link to your songs on social networks. You should create a fan pag and encourage people to like it and share it to friends. Some friends are supportive but dont be discouraged if they are not, you can do it with or without them because people who you dont know will appreciate your work and help promote it on their page.
Finally, you have to be hardworking, Rome was not built in a day. It takes a lot of determination to achieve your goal. Read and watch interviews of famous stars and learn.

Good luck with achieving your dream.

DJ Tee allegedly stabs upcoming rapper, assaults siblings

DJ Tee
Thursday, June 28, 2012 will forever remain a memorable day for the Osungade family as they almost lost three of their siblings in the hands of popular Director and Cinematographer Adetokunbo Odubawo better known as DJ Tee.
The video director has been accused of stabbing a 19-year-old upcoming artiste Osungade Tolani Alvin in the face and assaulting his two siblings.
NET sources say Tolani who is better known by his stage name TLI Soji Boi had gone along with his siblings – 22-year-old Dolapo aka Deeking and younger sister, 17 year-old Mobolaji to support a fellow upcoming artiste Malcolm who was shooting his video at the Daily Times factory in Ikeja. We’re told DJ Tee was the D.O.P (Director of Photography) on set.
Eye witnesses say all was going well until DJ Tee asked for those who were to appear in the video shoot (including Tolani and Dolapo) to move on set while the others should move out of shooting range. Dolapo’s girlfriend who wasn’t supposed to appear in the shoot stayed back on set.
Apparently this angered the director as DJ Tee was said to have ‘rudely told her to get out’. ‘He started screaming for her to get out, calling her bitch and stuff’, O’tuga Suzzie, a witness and family friend to the Osungade’s tweeted late last night.
Dolapo, obviously upset, talked back at the director, trying to caution him but DJ Tee allegedly slapped him and asked his boys who were also at the shoot to beat him up.
‘DJ Tee’s boys (about 10 of them) immediately pounced on Dolapo and started beating him up’ one eye witness who asked not to be named, told us.
‘As Mobo screamed and watched helplessly as her elder brother was being beaten up, DJ Tee asked his boys to beat her up too. As Tolani tried to intervene in the whole matter, DJ Tee approached Dolapo to stab him with a bottle he just broke.  Tolani intervened and DJ Tee stabbed him in the face. He then had them all thrown out of the factory and continued with the shoot.’
NET gathered Tolani is now receiving treatment at the Ikeja Medical Centre.
Even though different eye witnesses claim he did, the director has come out to say nothing of the sort happened. NET could not establish contact with DJ Tee for comments as at the time of this report as his phone was switched off but hours after the incident, he took to Twitter to deny the whole news, and explain what happened.
DJ Tee says he didn’t stab anybody;
@SOJIBOI_WE bro, I did not stab you…….why are people saying I picked up a bottle & stabbed you with it on your face’, DJ Tee tweeted at Tolani.
And as for the stab in Tolani’s face, he carefully explained;
‘He [Tolani] was an extra on shoot I did today, its long story anyway he smashed a bottle against hard metal above our head. The bottle shattered and cut me and him….broken pieces that was shattered around us. The stabbing thingy was not true…..it was shattered broken pieces anyway. It’s all good’, @DJTee explains as he tweeted at bloggers Twitter handles.

70-year-old man, son charged with killing professor

acting Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Mohammed Abubakar
A 70-year-old man, Jimoh Ayeni, on Thursday appeared before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrate’s Court for the alleged murder of a professor.
Ayeni of Ose-Egbeda Camp in Emure-Ekiti Local Government Area of Ekiti State was charged along with his 28-year-old son, Haruna Ayeni, for allegedly killing 68-year-old Prof. Clement Ayeni, News Agency of Nigeria reports.
The accused were arraigned on three counts of conspiracy to murder, hitting the victim with a stick on the head and flogging the professor with a cane until he died.
The offence, according to the prosecutor, is punishable under section 516 (a) of the criminal code cap 77 Law of the Federation of Nigeria, 1990.
The prosecutor, Ewuola Ebenezer, told the court that Ayeni died as a result of the injuries inflicted on him by the accused.
Ebenezer urged the court not to grant the accused bail because of the nature of the offence committed, which he said was a felony.
He also prayed for adjournment so that he could obtain the advice of the police Legal Department on the case.
The defence counsel, Mr. Taiwo Osayomi, prayed the court to transfer the case to a higher court of competent jurisdiction.
He said that the magistrate’s court lacked the power to hear the case.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Simeon Ojo, ordered that the accused be remanded in the Ado-Ekiti prison and adjourned the case to July 2, for further hearing.

Reps give Dana July 3 deadline to pay compensation

Relatives of the Anyenes, victims of the Dana plane crash, twin sister, Ms. Odinaka Anyene; sister, Mrs. Obianuju Mba; and sister, Mrs. Chinwe Okoye
House      of   Representatives on Thursday asked the management of Dana Airlines to pay compensation to the families of the victims of June 3 plane crash.
One hundred and fifty-three  passengers and several others on the ground were killed in the crash that occurred in Iju area of Lagos.
In a resolution in Abuja, the House gave the airline up to July 3 to comply with the directive.
The House took the decision following a motion by Mr. Yakub Abiodun.
Abiodun had told the House that the Nigerian Civil Aviation Act makes provision for the payment of compensation to victims within 30 days of an air disaster.
However, the House said that experiences in the past showed that operators were in breach of the provision.
“We expect compliance and the airline has up to July 3 to pay the compensation,” he added.
The House also ordered other airlines,  whose planes  crashed in the past, to pay 30 per cent of the compensation or make the full payment where investigations had been completed as required by law.
He  added, “The Convention for the Unification of Certain Rules for International Carriage by Air, simply known as the Montreal Convention, adopted by a diplomatic meeting of member states of the International Civil Aviation Organisation in 1999, stipulated a Special Drawing Rights for victims of air crash, which current value is put at about 171,000 dollars per passenger.”
On the NCAA Act, he stated, “Since section 48 of the Civil Aviation Act stipulated that an advance payment of 30 per cent of the SDR be made within 30 days, it is important that the House urge the management of Dana Air to comply immediately.”
But  Head, Corporate Communications, Dana Air, Mr Tony Usidamen, said meeting the July deadline would depend on how prompt the victims’ families were able to submit their compensation claim forms to the airline.
He said, “Of  the 153 people that died in the crash, only 50 completed compensation claim forms have submitted to us as at today. And these 50 forms have been passed on to our insurance company. The insurance company is authenticating the forms to ensure they originated from the right family members.
“Once this is done, they payment will be made. The process has been slow because some of the families are yet to submit their completed claim forms. And we understand their challenges because of what had happened.
“We have tried to help some of them by going to their houses; our staff members have followed some of them to the courts to get some of the needed papers.”

Poor Thang! I Travel With My Dogs And They Are My Life - Serena Wiliams

As a four-time Wimbledon singles champion, do you follow any rituals when you’re in England?
I’ve been staying in the same place for the past five years. I always have the same locker. I try not to have too many rituals because I believe that rituals don’t help you win. I used to do rituals a lot and it was crazy. I always had to have everything—my equipment, my clothes—lined up. It was too much. I couldn’t even keep up with all the stuff I had to do, so I was, like, “I can’t do this any more. It’s not helping me win. I’ve got to know winning comes from being on the court, not from whether I put my shoe in the same place.” It was crazy. I still do use the same shower though.
What do you look for when you’re choosing a dress?
I have to see four different sketches, and I look for style and how I feel at that moment. Last year I wore something really huggy, and tight-fit. So I was thinking about doing something a little different, and just really doing more play on color. I thought jewel tones would be great. I incorporate them in some of my collections as well.

PHOTO:Firm Abandoned him After Machine Spoilt His Hand

When Ifeanyi Okorocha, a machine operator with Therapeutic Laboratories Nigeria Limited, set out for work on March 1, 2012, he was full of life and spirit.
But his joy was cut short in the afternoon of the fateful day when the company’s industrial machine chopped off his fingers and damaged other parts of his arm.
The accident led to his journey to the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi, Lagos.
Okorocha, who said the accident occurred about 1.45pm while mixing water with powder, accused the company of abandoning him when he needed assistance most.
The machine operator said after two weeks at the hospital, his company, located at 372, Ikorodu Road, Maryland, Lagos, asked the doctor to discharge him.
But it was learnt that the doctor disagreed and insisted that Okorocha needed corrective surgery, warning that any hasty attempt to discharge him would worsen his condition.
He also said since the incident, the company had stopped his salary, adding that this had compounded his problem.
Okorocha, who spoke with PUNCH Metro in a voice laden with anguish said, “On March 1, 2012, about 1.45pm when I was adding water to the powder, my gloves became wet and slippery. After the process, I wanted to open the mixer from the bottom with my right hand when my left hand slipped and fell into the running machine.
“None of my colleagues could come and help me while I was shouting for help because they were scared. So, I had to switch off the machine myself and pulled out my hand at the same time. After pulling out my hand, I noticed two of my fingers had been cut off and I also broke my arm.
“My supervisor rushed me to the company’s private hospital at Ikeja. From there, I was taken to Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi. But after two weeks at the hospital, the company said I should be discharged.
“However, the doctor refused. The company stopped paying for my medical bills before the hospital went on strike. After the strike, I went back to the hospital, but I was asked to pay before I could be attended to.”
But the Administration Manager, Therapeutic Laboratories, Mr. Lawal Ebenezer, said Okorocha was telling lies.
Ebenezer said he was not in a position to say whether the company had stopped his salary or not, nevertheless, he said Okorocha was ungrateful to say he had been abandoned by the company.
The Admin Manager said, “He cannot say that before me. When the hospital was on strike, the company said I should arrange for a private hospital for him. I was supposed to go and pay some money only to be told he had left the hospital. When I called his line, it indicated it was switched off.
“For him (Okorocha) to use the word ‘abandonment’ is a wrong expression. We did not abandon him. As for his salary, I can’t talk about that. But for the treatment, I can say he did not say the truth.”
Counsel for the family of Okorocha, Mr. Silas Udoh, in a letter addressed to the company’s Managing Director, alleged that the accident occurred as a result of the firm’s negligence.
He, therefore, demanded N25m as compensation for Okorocha, failing which his client would take a legal action.
The letter reads in part, “We are informed that Mr. Ifeanyi Okorocha had his two major fingers cut off by your industrial machine and as well damaged other parts of his arm and body due to your company’s negligence.
“Aside from the above, we are also informed that although you took Okorocha to Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi and was admitted there since March 1, 2012, no efforts were made by your company to inform his family up till now, thereby subjecting the family to psychological and mental torture of tracing their son to the said hospital.
“Based on the above mentioned facts, we have the instruction of our client to demand from your company the sum of N25m as compensation for the damage occasioned by your company.”

Obasanjo Says That Bribe Givers And Takers Should Be Punished

I Know OBJ as a man who doesnt have a permanent friend or boy, if u mess up he will definitely treat your Bleep-up. Buh Is he saying he was not in the picture before the give and take , I tought Otedola is one of his boys, what do you think NLders, ok hear him
Against the backdrop of the bribery allegation between a member of the House of Representatives, Farouk Lawan and business mogul, Femi Otedola, over the fuel subsidy report, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has said both the giver and taker of bribe must be punished.
Speaking to the The Guardian of London, Obasanjo said fighting corruption in Nigeria was not a one-night affair.
His words: “Fighting corruption is not a one-night affair. The givers of most of the corruption in Africa are from outside Africa. They do in Africa (things) they would not do in their own countries. In my part of the world, we have a saying that the man who carries a pot of palm oil from the ceiling is not the only thief. He has an accomplice in the man who helps him to bring it down. The giver and the taker are criminals, and they should be treated as such.”
Obasanjo told the newspaper that instead of saying Nigerian leaders lack accountability, the paper should say they are corrupt.
“You are being euphemistic when you say lack of accountability. Call it corruption. There is no part of the world where corruption is absolutely eliminated. But (in other countries) corruption has not been a way of life. When you are found, you are dealt with. And that’s what we need.”
Obasanjo was in the UK to promote investment in Nigeria.
The former president who is working as a roving ambassador, facilitating firms’ entry into Nigeria and the rest of Africa said he believed that positive examples of business success would encourage avaricious minds to look for more legitimate routes to wealth.
He said: “I still believe in the opportunities that Africa affords to make legitimate money. Africa is one place I believe that if you are courageous enough, you get the money, you can invest and get 25 per cent return on your investment annually. There aren’t many places in the world where you can get that return.”

OPC Seeks Involvement In Tackling Boko Haram

Kwara State Chapter of Odua People’s Congress (OPC) has asked President Jonathan to accept their help in the fight against Boko Haram.
The Coordinator of OPC in Kwara, Moruf Abdulsalam, while speaking in Ilorin on Sunday, said that the group had discovered new scientific way of handling bomb blasts.
"When the time comes, the congress will not hesitate to put it into use to protect the lives and property of innocent citizens being wasted by the Boko Haram."
Abdulsalam stressed that the congress was ready to ensure that no life was wasted in the state by the Boko Haram terrorists.
According to him, the main objective of the OPC, with over 19,000 members, was to protect lives and property of citizens.
Abdulsalam said the congress had ordered its branches in the 16 local government areas to extend their tentacles to the grassroots to monitor suspicious movements that could pose security risk.
"The congress has also mandated the local government branches to recruit more youths as a way of preparing for emergencies," he said, "We don’t pray that they should attack any of us in Yoruba land, but we are not leaving any stone unturned. In spite of appeals from well meaning Nigerians and foreigners, this sect has not listened." Can they bite?

Fellow Nigerians, meet Emmanuel Ohuabunwa who made us proud in the United States

A 22-year-old Nigerian, Emmanuel Ohuabunwa, has made history at John Hopkins University, United States of America.  Ohuabunwa from Arochukwu, Abia State, has done the nation proud by becoming the first black man to make a Grade Point Average of 3.98 out of 4.0 to bag a degree in Neurosciences in the university. He was also adjudged as having the highest honours during the graduation that was held on May 24 this year.
For his efforts, he has won a scholarship to Yale University to pursue a degree in medicine. Besides, he has been inducted into Phi Beta Kappa Society, a prestigious honour group that features membership of 17 US Presidents, 37 US Supreme Court Justices, and 136 Nobel Prize winners.
Ohuabunwa, who was born in Okota, Lagos and attended Lilly Fields Primary School, Lagos, said he left Nigeria after his junior secondary school education at Air Force Comprehensive School, Ibadan, Oyo State.
He moved to the United States at the age of 13, at that time he was admitted into Fondren Middle School, which was in the middle of the ghetto, so he was subjected to Racism, He said, " “Some asked me if I lived in mud huts and ate faeces for breakfast. I remember one day, when I was walking to the school bus, a boy came from behind and punched me in the face, called me an African and walked away. It took everything in me not to retaliate. I knew that God had put me in the U.S for a purpose and it did not involve fighting or selling drugs or doing the wrong things".
But in spite of this humiliation and racial prejudice against him, the first in a family of three was not discouraged. He faced his studies and was always coming top in his class. After he completed his middle school education, he passed the entrance examination to DeBakey High School for Health Professions. It was at this school that his interest in neurosciences and medicine started.
Worried that his parents might not be able to sponsor him to the university, Ohuabunwa purposed to work very hard. He did and when the result of the PSAT came, he performed so well that he won the National Achievement Scholar.
By virtue of this award, he received certificates of recognition from various organisations including senators from the Congress of both Texas and the US. He also received scholarship from the University of Houston; Rice University, Texas A&M Honors College and many more.
He had also won the Principal’s Award during the annual awards ceremony at DeBakey High School.
“During our graduation ceremony at DeBakey, I also won the Award for the Most Outstanding Senior Young Man and the student volunteer award for my volunteer activities in the State of Texas,” he said.
But his breakthrough came when he won the Bill and Belinda Gates Foundation full scholarship to any university of his choice. He worked hard and gained admission to Johns Hopkins University to study Neurosciences.

President Goodluck Jonathan is not fit to be nigeria's president

One of the world’s foremost economists, Professor George Ayittey has lashed out at the President of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (GEJ), describing him as “a joke” and a mediocre President after his (GEJ’s) encounter with the media last night.
According to Professor Ayittey, Nigeria “deserves a better leader”, judging by GEJ’s poor, almost unfortunate responses to some of the questions posed to him by the Nigerian media last night.
The Professor indicated that GEJ’s refusal to declare his assets and his failure to tackle the Boko Haram crisis suggest that he is of an unsound mind.
He therefore called on Nigerians to rid themselves of GEJ as soon as possible.
He said: “Nigerians should not put up with such mediocrity and should mount a RECALL GEJ campaign. They should check Chapter VI of their Constitution. See Sections 143 and 144 about removing the President and Vice-President from office other than through elections”.
“137; 1c: “A person shall not be qualified for election to the office of President if under the law in any part of Nigeria, he is adjudged to be a lunatic or otherwise declared to be of unsound mind.”

Media chat exposed Jonathan on corruption – ACN

President Goodluck Jonathan
The Action Congress of Nigeria on Tuesday said President Goodluck Jonathan’s comments on key national issues during the Presidential Media Chat on Sunday exposed his administration’s lack of commitment to the fight against corruption, ending the Boko Haram crisis and others.
In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said, “If that programme had been designed to showcase the President’s ability to grapple with key national issues, it only succeeded in achieving the exact opposite, and the programme’s architects must now seriously have a rethink on whether they want to continue to feature their principal on that platform.”
It described as unfortunate and poorly thought through, the President’s exhibition of nonchalance when he said he would not publicly declare his assets.
The party said with that statement, the President had undermined his own administration’s fight against corruption and almost wiped off whatever gains that had been made by the country in its continuous battle against the vice.
It said, “The President, by refusing to publicly declare his assets, and by doing so with a choice of words that portray arrogance and nonchalance (I don’t give a damn about that), has given the green light to his cabinet members and other government officials to downplay the fight against corruption and to eschew transparency.
According to the ACN, though Nigeria’s constitution does not mandate public officials to make their assets declaration public, public declaration of assets is more an issue of morality and leadership than constitutionality or legality.
“Since leadership is key to achieving success in this epic battle, President Jonathan, by thumbing his nose at his own administration’s much-stated commitment to transparency and anti-corruption, has simply decreed an Open Sesame for corruption and opaqueness in government,” ACN said.
The party describes as disturbing, the President’s statement that “because Boko Haram is faceless,” the government could not engage in talks aimed at ending the daily dosage of maiming and killings.
“Mr. President, if this remains the stand of your administration almost three years into the Boko Haram insurgency, then Nigerians are in serious trouble. This stand is as dangerous as it is ill-informed. Such negotiations are done through back-channels, through intermediaries, Mr. President. Waiting for the leaders of Boko Haram to come to the table to negotiate with the government is like Waiting for Godot,” it said.
The party said the statement confirmed the speculations in some circles that the Jonathan administration was not sincere about ending the Boko Haram crisis, because it is being increasingly seen by the President as his trump card for a second term in office.
ACN said, “It has also confirmed the President’s own admission that Boko Haram has infiltrated his administration, in which case it is now possible that he is being advised by fifth columnists within his government on how to end the crisis!”
The party also expressed shock at the President’s justification of his ill-advised trip to Brazil when his country was in the throes of violence, saying he did not convince anyone that hopping into a plane with a large retinue of officials and flying off to Brazil was the best way to show the international community, especially investors, that Nigeria is a safe destination.

Yvonne, a model, designer, businesswoman and actress who has featured in thousands of international movies with the latest being Halima Abubakar's new movie 'Mistress' doesn't negotiate with her country's currency but universal currency, USD.
Though this price tag she has placed on herself has been generating controversies within and outside Ghana as they said it has made some producers who had planned to feature her changed their minds due to the 'hike' in her professional fee. Notwithstanding, this idea, no doubt, will carve a niche and also add a great respect to her career as she will only be featuring in selected few movies.
Aside the $10,000, we learnt there are other conditions attached and once they are not met, you can as well try the next door. Well, Yvonne changed her status, as far as professional charges are concerned, ever since she won a mouth-watering contract from Ghana telecommunication giant, Vodafone.

Help, I love her, but she is too ugly for my liking

It all started almost 9 years ago, secondary school days, met her via a popular networking mode in a popular newspaper then and we started the normal Online dating, you know all those kinda luv in tokyo stuffs, We do talk on phone like 6hrs out of the whole 24hrs of a day.
She lives in another state and we both promised on seeing each other just the way young lovers do but i happen to have the overprotective type of parents so i couldnt travel out of my own state to see her, explained this to her and she understand and promised to wait for more time. we continued like that for about 3 years until we both gained admissions into different universities, though i chose to study oversea which really made matters complicated cos we hardly talk unlike before
I Decided to move on after 5years of ghost-dating (U know what i mean) and the truth was things wasn't so similar, I ve really fallen so much in love with my unseen girlfriend in such a way that i just couldn't keep physical relationship for more than a month, then get back to my unseen love again, at a point i felf i was going crazy, that continued repeatedly until we lost contact for a whole year, we are both through with school and i v got a good job here back home, now My Parents wants me to get married,

Man Sells Kidney To Buy Engagement Ring,Dumped By Fiancee After

A hopeless romantic wants to buy his girlfriend the engagement ring of her dreams, but alas, he doesn’t have the means to make it happen. Many men will sell some of our possessions to raise the extra cash. We’ve seen guys trade in cars, guitars and collectibles, but this resourceful one in the Ukraine decided to sell his kidney on the black market. Our Ukrainian friend made out with £12,300 GBP (about $21,000 USD), which according to Blue Nile would return about a two-carat, ideal-cut diamond.
The kicker: She dumped him. No word as to whether he kept the receipt to get the kidney back.
Apparently the concept of “make sure she’ll say yes before getting the ring and proposing” isn’t a widely known one, as Cowboys receiver Roy Williams faced a similar issue (minus the kidney sale) when he presented his girlfriend with a $75,000 engagement ring.
Investigations revealed that kidneys are at times sold for as much as £25,000. Though most sellers agree that greed and the zeal to pay off their debts are the main motivating factors, they also claim the move could help save lives of those in need of the organs.

Could this be love...????

Ghanaian movies banned in Nigeria

SPECULATIONS are rife that the once harmonious relationship between the Nigerian movie industry, Nollywood and its counterpart, Ghana’s Ghollywood,is currently under threat as the movie marketers under the aegis of Film, Video Producers and Marketers Association of Nigeria (FVPMAN) has placed embargo  on Ghanaian films with effect from the end of this month.
The association has also resolved to halt the distribution of films produced by non-professionals. It insists that if such film(s) must be distributed at all, its right of ownership should be transferred to its members on negotiation.
The  FVPMAN chairman, Onitsha branch, Mr. Uzo Godson Nwosu who confirmed this development to HVP, said this position was taken after the association’s general meeting last weekend in Onitsha.According to him, the decision became necessary following the position taken by their Ghanaian counterparts who have banned the distribution of Nigerian films in their country long time ago.
His words, “starting from the first week of August, no Ghanaian film will be allowed to enter the Nigerian market again. We have resolved that no Ghanaian film will be distributed within our controlled market. Our Ghanaian counterparts have long stopped distributing our films in their country, and given this development, we have no choice than to reciprocate the gesture.” FVPMAN boss stated.
Nwosu who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Guinks Investment said any of  their members who failed  to compile with this new order will either  be prosecuted or have his goods confiscated by the association.
The marketer said the association is finalising plans to storm Ghana any moment from now, particularly to confront those local  television stations who are illegally airing Nigerian films without obtaining permission from the right owners.
Also, given the problem associated with “second tier market”(where a producer is compelled to observe a three-month  grace before releasing his film into the market in a large quality), Nwosu said the association has decided to reversed the trend.
Film owners, according to him, are now free to release their films into the market without necessarily observing the mandatory  three months grace before doing so.
They will also be required  to obtain censors’ board and copy right commission’s documents in addition to registering the film with the sum of N10,000 with the FVPMAN.
“In order to move the association forward, we have resolved to address the problem of second tier market.” FVPMAN boss further stated.

31 Nigerian Prostitutes To Be Deported From Denmark

31 illegal Nigerian immigrants in Copenhagen, Denmark were all arrested on prostitution on Thursday morning, rounded up in a police sweep of Istedgage, Vesterbro district of the city.
20 other suspects fled the scene and evaded capture during the raid. Those caught were charged with holding false residency permits, working without a premit and vagrancy. The women will be counselled by social workers trained in dealing with trafficking victims while their immigration statuses are verified, and are scheduled to appear in court over the next few days.
There has been an increase in African prostitutes in the city, which, thanks to legal prostitution in the country, has drawn an increasing number of immigrant prostitutes that Kjeld Farcinsen of the Copenhagen Police decscribed as “increasingly aggressive.”
“When our undercover officers approach them, the women make no attempt to hide the fact that they are offering sex for money,” Farcinsen told Politiken newspaper.
Farcinsen went on to say that the city’s police will be conducting more night raids in the coming weeks, in hopes of catching more illegal prostitutes.
Prostitution is legal in Denmark and carefully monitored, but non-residents are not allowed to engage in the profession. Nigerians form the largest contingent of Africans working in the trade.

Two Daughters Beat Up Their Father Over N45k Debt

Two sisters, Halisa Junaidu, 28, and Aina’u Junaidu, 26, of Tudun-Wada quarters, Katsina, were on Friday arraigned before a Shari’ah Court in the state for allegedly beating up their father, Malam Junaidu Tudun-Wada over a debt of N45, 000.00, which he owed them.
Halisa and Aina’u, who stood as second and third accused in the trial, were sued alongside their mother, Malama Umma Junaidu by Malam Junaidu for allegedly planning to kill him. The trio were charged for conspiracy, disgrace and use of power on Malam Junaidu Tudun-Wadu.
Junaidu told the court that his daughters, Halisa and Aina’u on the orders of their mother, Malama Umma Junaidu, used power on him as a result of which he sustained injuries on his laps.
“They dragged me out of toilet, and pulled me to the ground in an attempt to eject me from my house. Their mother ordered them to carry out the act in order to embarrass me. It was my son, Muddaha, who saved me from them. I want this court to order them to vacate my house because I am afraid of being killed. I had to vacate the house for some days for my safety because they threatened to kill me. I, therefore, pray the court to order them to leave my house because I cannot live with them in the same house anymore,” he told the court.
But, when the charges were read, the accused persons pleaded not guilty, saying, “we never threatened to kill him, but we demanded for our rights from him.”
Umma in her testimony told the court that she never ordered her daughters to beat or kill her husband, Malam Junaidu. She said Junaidu disowned the women, so they asked him to take them to their real father. She also alleged that Junaidu shared his property among his children, and excluded Halisa and Aina’u. Both Halisa and Aina’u denied beating up their father and also disputed the alleged plan to kill him.
Halisa, the second accused person told the court that her father, Malam Junaidu was owing her N20, 000, adding, “he once told me that he is not my father, so I want him to pay me my money and also tell me who my real father is.”
Aina’u, also denied beating her father, but said that she asked him to pay her the N25, 000, which he owed her. She added that she was ready to swear with the Qur’an that she did not beat him.
When the court asked Junaidu about the N45,000 debt, he said it was true, adding that Halisa offered him N20,000 while Aina’u gave him N25,000.
But when the judge, Alhaji Kabiru Hamisu Bello ordered Aina’u to swear by the holy Qur’an that she did not beat her father, she refused and pleaded for leniency. The judge has fixed July 4, 2012 for judgment.

The world lose an icon in the animal kingdom - Lol

Lonesome George has died, leaving the world one species poorer.
The only remaining Pinta Island tortoise and celebrated conservation icon passed away Sunday, the Galapagos National Park Service said in a statement.
Estimated to be more than 100 years old, the creature's cause of death remains unclear and a necropsy is planned.
Lonesome George's longtime caretaker, Fausto Llerena, found the tortoise's remains stretched out in the "direction of his watering hole" on Santa Cruz Island, the statement said.
Lonesome George was discovered on Pinta Island in 1972 at a time when tortoises of his type were already believed to be extinct. Since then, the animal had been part of the park service's tortoise program.
Repeated efforts to breed Lonesome George failed.
"Later two females from the Espanola tortoise population (the species most closely related to Pinta tortoises genetically) were with George until the end," the park service said.
In honor of Lonesome George, the park service said it was convening an international workshop in July on management strategies for restoring tortoise populations over the next decade.
The Galapagos Islands, situated about 1,000 kilometers (620 miles) off Ecuador's coast, is considered a haven for tortoises.
