
James Ameh, a police officer attached to Mopol 56 was allegedly beaten to coma after his collegues at the roundabout stopped a commercial bus driver whom they had claimed flaunted traffic rule in the early hour of the day. James who was occupying the front seat of the bus came down to appeal to his colleagues to set the man free after he had been asked to pay N5000. The six policemen were not comfortable with his plea and decided to push him away. Upon resistance, James was beaten from all side that he slumped.
It was other sympathizers at the scene that rescued James from the hands of the six policemen and took him away for treatment.
The state Police Commissioner, Mr Mohamed Indabawa who was contacted after the incident confirmed that the policemen allegedly involved in the matter were being investigated as the matter is currently on his desk.
